In this workshop, Mr. Ishikawa, CEO of Japan's eMoBi, shared insights on the application of small electric vehicles in Japan’s tourism industry, where his company specializes in providing electric tricycle rental services for hotels and tourist attractions. Following this, Mr. Ye, a consultant from Japan’s autonomous driving software development company Tier IV, discussed how Japan achieved L4 verification approval and highlighted the potential of autonomous vehicles to address aging populations and rural depopulation challenges in Japan.
Additionally, Associate Professor Chiang from National Taipei University of Technology explored the importance of industry-academia collaboration in promoting the development of SAE L2+ technologies. During the roundtable forum, he moderated a panel where multiple experts engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the outlook for the autonomous driving industry in Asia, strategies for aligning the smart vehicle industry with international regulations, and the path to sustainable smart transportation through AI and high-performance edge computing.
