In recent years, global political and economic dynamics have undergone significant changes, including the pandemic, wars, and geopolitical conflicts, all of which have disrupted industries and forced companies to rethink supply chain restructuring to mitigate risks. Despite these challenges, technological advancements have continued. For instance, the rapid development of generative AI has revolutionized production and business models, driving increased demand for semiconductors and chips. Therefore, Taiwan's ICT industry faces the critical challenge of maintaining its position in the global supply chain amid these shifting dynamics while balancing national security, customer service, risk diversification, information security, and technological leadership.
With Taiwan's globally leading semiconductor advanced manufacturing capabilities, the industry can first cultivate module and subsystem expertise to gain a competitive edge in the international market for emerging application systems, laying a foundation for future system solution developments. As countries worldwide seek semiconductor partnerships with Taiwan, there is an opportunity to promote Taiwan's high-value subsystem solutions on a global scale.
Through the project host by 4SA, component, module, subsystem, and system companies are encouraged to collaborate and form teams, establishing a cross-border supply chain information-sharing mechanism. This initiative aims to generate multi-directional industrial investments and business opportunities while expanding international cooperation. The program focuses on 4 Key Intelligent Technology Sectors in Taiwan, supporting Taiwanese companies in forming teams to develop high-value modules and subsystems for export to overseas markets. Additionally, the 4SA organizational structure and mechanisms help companies understand global demands, form subsystem teams, conduct domestic and international validation tests, and secure international business opportunities.
